i ride in aitkin. we have a cabin on a lake and across the lake there are lots of trails to go riding on. i dont know the name of the trails but you could probably find them at the minnesota dnr website.

I would definately say the plus side is for the ATV! Bikes are fun, but not in mud, snow, standing water, or rock challenging trails!

actually bikes are fun in mud and snow. in the winter i love riding my dirtbike in the snow. its challenging but its a blast. i will also go back in the trails and go through the mudholes. i obviously cant go through as much as an atv and i usually get stuck but that just makes it more fun. plus an ohm can make a pretty sick rooster tail in the mud.

hey, im seriously thinking about getting 1 of the yamaha 230s for woods/technical trail riding

think a fatass (250) dude will bottom those out too much (i wont be doing much jumps.. and if i start, i will tradeup to a crf250x)

Whatcha think?

really? thats crazy - dirt rider mag supposedly said it bottoms out for the 200+ guys

Did they have problems at all with it popping out of gear? heard the 6 speeds on the ttr230s at least had probs.

that would be sweet if a ttr would work
1) yamaha blue
2) its like 2k
3) ttr230 starts way better in the cold than the crf230

maybe the magazine said it would bottom out for 200+ guys if you were doing jumps and not trail riding. I dont think yamaha would make a 230 that would bottom out for 200+ guys because a lot of riders are close to or over 200 lbs. I have not heard anything about the 230 popping out of gears.

lol i spoke w/ the dnr via email, they said i would get fined for riding OHMs on ATV only trails, but they wouldnt tell me what the fines are.

If its 20$ for a day of fun, i wouldnt mind that, but if its like 150 - no thanks!
