question for you MN ppl - atv or mx
#1
Hey all,
Im an old trail riding fan, but everything in this state seems to be ATVs(4x4s).
Ive checked out DNR websites, there arent that many shared atv trails, but there are some at least (so hopefully i can ride w/ my friends).
They like to do a lot of minimum maintinence roads, etc. They all say that a bike cant keep up, but i dont know if any of them have ever ridden a motorcycle.
So the question for those mn riders is, can a bike keep up w/ a 4x4. I understand i cant ride through 4 ft of mud, but isnt there always another way? (over or around)?
just trying to decide what to buy, i think 4x4s are fun, but you dont feel as free on 1 as you do a bike

if i were you i would go for the atv because mn is mostly mud and there arent many trails for ohm riders. but, if you really want a ohm i would get one. by the way an ohm cant keep up with an atv when it gets really muddy but, it can keep up with them pretty well when the trails are not that muddy. i have a tt-r125L and my uncle has a polaris 500 sportsman and when we race through the trails that are hard packed dirt and have no mud i can keep up with him fine. so don't let the muddy trails and atv riders keep you from getting an ohm if you really want one.

If you're going to be riding with ATV's, get an ATV, or vise versa.

i ride the ohm and the atv on the atv trail. I dont think the dnr/county would really care if youre riding an ohm on a atv trail unless the trail has a lot of people on it or the trail is well known.
