Is it worth the extra $1200 to $1400 for the ltr450 over the ltz400?

Would it be better to get the z400 and dump $1200 into mods later, or just get the r450? Which would be better? Are there more than $1200 in upgrades?
Thanks

Theres thousands of dollars in performance upgrades for the 400. I would get that instead of
the r450. w/ $1200 you can pipe and jet it, put an air filter on, it, take off the airbox lid and
install a k&n lid, etc. Those are the first few things I would do to it. Then they have a 440 big
bore kit for it. Thats only about $250. Then maybe change the gearing w/ sprockets. Or
if you dont want just engine performance, they have tons of tires for it/wheel packages.
Works shocks are good but will take up a lot of money, so if you dont like the stock shocks
just adjust them. Also, if you like twist throttles they have them for the z. And a new
aftermarket chain would be a good thing to get.
So if you're looking for engine performance, get the first things I listed. I wouldnt spend all
the 1200 on engine parts, though. Skidplates are usually a must for trail riding and stuff.

I meant, are there more than $1200 difference in upgrades between the z400 and the r450. For $1200 in upgrades to the z400, would it be badder than the r450?

It depends on what you are doing with it. But if you are asking if the 450 is $1200 more of bike than the 400 then the answer is yes. For only $1200 it's doubtful you could make a 400 as good as a stock 450.
For reference consider that the Team Suzuki 400s last year had about $20000 into them.

it depends on what your doing with it,if you want to race MX then go R450,but for woods and just trail get the Z400.For $1200 you could buy 440 kit, pipe, jets, performance air filters, good tires, and that would make a awsome Z.but if you trail ride a R450 would suck because they are set up for MX.
