Default AC 500 Auto/ Suzuki Vinson 500

Hi guys, New to the site and looking for a little bit of help. I am looking to purchase an ATV in the next couple of weeks and need to know which you guys think would be better for me. Im 6'0" 150# and would be looking for an ATV that can pull a deer outta some thick woods, also one that would be good for ice fishing, and be able to pull my portable around, and also which out of the two would be better for trail riding. Im interested in what you think would be the best quad in combining all three of those aspects. i would also go through occasional mud. Personally im leaning towards the cat whith the better ground clearance and IRS for better ride, also Diff Lock for mudding, so any opinions will be considered, and TIA.

Both good machines, but trail riding goes to vinson. But i would have to say the diff, 4x4 system, and ice fishing accessories would adapt much better to the AC, because of its speedrack, and top rated 4x4 and diff lock system. Also you are correct, the AC has the advantage with ground clearance. But like i said, the Vinson is a good quad as well, and would also work fine for the mentioned tasks, but i would get the AC

The Vinson would win the races, but without a diff-lock I wouldn't even think of getting one. I use my Arctic Cat for a lot of hunting, plowing the driveway, and going on trails. You can't beat the racks on these things, lots of room for deer and a lot of attachments too.

Ok guys, since you picked the cat, i got myself into a dilema. I also liked the cat and it had more to offer for me than the vinson, but i recently discovered that i can walk out the door with a 660 grizzly for $6900, and i can get a cat 500 for $6510 both with winches, so do you guys think the 660 would be worth the extra 400 bucks, it has everything the cat has to offer and more, i dopnt know bout you, but .2 inches of ground clearance aint much. Let me know, but i think imma get hte grizz.

The Grizz is an excellent ATV too. If it wasn't for Arctic Cat I would probably be on one. The 660 will have more power then the 500, thats for sure. however the Cat still has a better rack system and attachments, fuel tank, and in my opinion looks. Hard choice, good luck to you and let us know what you get!

I actually found a cat a dealership owned by a good friend of mine, that has a plow and winch on it, with only 165 miles on it. With the mentioned attachments, hand and thumb warmers, front brush guard, and rear bumper, i can take it out the door for $5880, to me it souonds like an awesome deal and im gonna go take a look at it tomorrow.

i would have to say all would be good choices. i would stay away from polaris and honda. i dont think you can go wrong with yamaha, can-am, AC, or suzuki. just compare the models that you like from each manufacturer. i know that 600-1000 dollars is a big difference in price, but remember, thats spread out over the whole time you own it. if the one you really like costs 600 more than another, think about it like this. if you own it for only 6 years, that extra 600 dollars only set you back less then 10 dollars a month. but dont spend more then you can afford.
