Well I know my quad does at top speed 50MPH...his Big Bear goes faster than that.

Ask anyone with a 200SX...they do go 50MPH.

Hi,

My Honda FourTrax Rancher goes 52mph, and my Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 goes 57mph. It is not only the size of the engine that determines speed. The sizes of the gears have a significant effect on overall speed of the ATV.

Get a car to follow you and find out how fast you can really can go,I did.I know I can do 55mph tops and I go by my friends Rancher and 2000 Kodiak on the long straights at a jogs pace.A Big bear is a lower geared utiliy quade that will not keep up the a Rancher or Kodiak sorry.Put up a new post at the Yamaha forum and ask the Big bears owners how fast they can go.Most people own 400 Big Bears and they did not buy them for speed thats for sure.

ATV speedos are notorious for letting you think you are going faster than you think you are. I have a 400 Xplorer which will just hit 60 on a good day. I have passed people who claimed to be doing over 60 without using full throttle. I would take all top speeds with a grain of salt unless clocked by a GPS or checked against a car speedo.

Or you guys can read the ATVconnection.com reviews and see what their top clocked speeds are for every ATV they review. =)

Yes I did have a car follow behind me and it went 50MPH.

The Big Bear he has is a 2wd so the 2wd's are sometimes a bit faster than the 4wd models of the same kind.
