Arctic Cat has selectable 2 and 4 wheel drive, at any speed. It also has a manual differential locker. Check them out! Of course they are all Utility quads. But you can make them fun! Look at my pics

Is it the auto tranny? I know the first time I rode that scrambler I kept reaching for the shifter with my left foot. just took me a few minutes to get used to just pushing the trottle though.

Are the manual trannies a pita on tight trails? I've only ridded auto clutch manual trannies on the trails and would usually stay in 2nd or third and not worry about a hand lever when I stopped. It seems on real rocky technical stuff it would really be a hassle to continuosly work a clutch and brake.

I think all 4x4 quads currently made are selctable. If you get something used then you might find a full time 4x4.

I'm looking at the $2k or lower range, so it will be an older one I'm sure

Well, this is 2007. Do they still make it?

I don't know for sure...I think this year there is no 400 V.P. model........However there may be some left-overs somewhere or with real low miles.......I just stated the facts that there was one in 2006....The way they were talking ......was quite some time back ........was when they made quads with full time 4x4......Thanks...Caper....

Simply to refute the idea that Polaris is still poor quality, my brother has wrecked real bad on his 06 Pred 500 a few times and only bent and ruined plastics. I have wrecked less severely on my 05 Rappy and bent handlebars, broke reverse mount and bent fender mounts. To say the Polaris is poor quality is just ignorance of their newer models. The new models are just as quality as anything else.
