i agree with 2tv to a certain extent. once you throw a leg over overyou will be cautious and well you will have lot of respect for the machine. after you get the feel for it though you will possibly begin to open it up more then your experience should allow you to. i am about the same size as you i am 5'10" 155 pounds and if i was you i would go with a lil yamaha blaster for now. a fun lil machine to start and learn on. if won't cost you an arm and a leg and well you can upgrade in a couple years if still interested and won't be out anything. i like the yfz450 i love the yami's and i agree that anything in the 400 range would be a good one to like the z400 or dvx 400 or ex 400. it all comes down to you do you feel comfy jumping on a larger sport quad? or are you gonna go with something you can learn and be safe on? i just got into dirtbikes a couple years ago and i didn't go with a yfz 450 4 stroke i went with a lil yz 125 to learn on.
