Default Big bore vs medium.

Hi I am just wandering which would be better for rough steep rockey terrain. I live in the ozark mountains and there is some pretty rough and remote country around here. Im not new to atvs but I have not ridden many of the big bores enough to deside. My main concern is the stabality of the machine. I dont want a atv that will be easy to turn over when the goin gets tough. So are the 500s, 700s, and the 800s easer to turn over compared to the smaller versions? Thanks.

In my opinion I think the smaller ones are less stable. They are more narrow, shorter wheel base, lighter and smaller tires. A bigger machine feels more planted, wider, longer and bigger tires but on the other hand a smaller machine will be easier to maneuver and have tighter turns. How tall and how big are you?

In my opinion the Independant Rear Suspension machines are a smoother ride, but not as stable as a Straight Rear Axle. All the Sport machines run a Straight Rear Axle for that reason.

Not all sport quads run straight axles anymore. Things are changing.

There you go ozark. Yes the Polaris outlaw!!!! You will see more of them with it. There are even kits now to convert quads like the raptor and the 450r's to IRS.

I used to own a Yamaha Kodiak 450. Now I'm buying a Kawasaki Brute Force 650i (which I have ridden in the past). The Kodiak is MUCH easier to turn, but lacks the fun factor of the Brute, namely it's power.
