30 years old, have been riding CRF 450R's, and KX 250's. Getting fat and out of shape, Not as many guy's riding the track anymore. Thinking about going to four wheels. 220 lbs, still want to catch a bit of air, rip through the bush, sling some mud, hit the pits, budget is around 2004 - 2005. Been reading up on 660 Rap, DS 650, 500 Pred. What do you suggest, like to do easy mods.

The DS is a large frame machine. That makes it a little clumsy on the trail, and in the air.
The 660 is narrow and tippy. Carries its weight up high in the frame. I would need to widen it. Big torque from that engine though!
Not familiar with the P.
How tall are you???? If you aren't real tall, take a look at the 450's or maybe the 400's if your budget can't support a 450.

5'7, Two choices today, I've found a 2005 Polaris Preditor $5000 Cad, low miles mint condition or, 2004 DS 650 Baja X $5,500 Cad not bad shape. The Polaris has great reviews for bush riding but I'm also a sledder, sled wise polaris has been sucking @@@ and unreliable. confused? do they make abetter atv?

Bought the 2004 Troy Lee Predator, could not resist, brand new, not a scratch. I'm amazed on how fast this quad is in the bush, climbs great in the sand, just like riding a snowmobile. Completely different purpose compared to the CRF 450R. This ATV is fast and I like the low center of gravity. Better not blow up like those @@@@@@@ Polaris Sleds.
Any information on suspension set up would be greatly appreciated!
