Default YFZ 450, DS 650, or raptor 660?

Okay, the situation is i've ridden dirtbikes for a few years now, normally I put around on my yz426, but recently ive grown to like quads and now have decided to get one of my own!

Im a pretty big dude...(played football all my life, quit in college) at 6'2" 300lbs....
slowly losin weight but regardless BIG. =o

I do mostly desert riding, open trails a few bowl areas, nothin track, dunes, etc...no real TIGHT areas, a few rocky hill climbs and what not.

Ive only got a small budget to spend and have found a couple of each of those quads in my price range, sorta leaning towards the 450 because damn I like speed...but concerned about having to ride the rpms.

any ideas?

the 450s are nice but for you being big and all should get the raptor 700r. dont get the 660 it is not even on the same level. it is almost like comparing a 400 to a 450

Yea, my thoughts are its a good bike for the price, not the best pick, but good, and even though it isnt Ideal for trails it should atleast fair ok, its not like we put around...

Stay away from the 660.

The DS is large framed, but you aren't a trail rider so it might be a good choice for you.

The 450 will feel like a toy. If I were in your shoes, I think I would go with the 450 anyway.....

Recon, I do ride trails, LOTS of em, just desert trails and not forest so they're a *little* more open at times, the big issue I have with the 450 is it doesnt like to go slow, and when we roll in large groups there's plenty of times I wont be able to open it up.

What's so wrong with the 660? Got a co-worker with an 05' 660R with new full pipe, jetted and a K&N, gonna sell it to me for 3500 if I want it, really interested in it, was wondering why people say to stay away.

there is nothing "wrong" with the raptor 660. **** i used to own one. i like the 450 way better than it. better suspestion, great engine, great frame. the 660 has a frame & suspestion like a 400 class quad.

450. I'm 6-2, 235, and I love being able to toss around that little machine.
