New to this forum, decided to buy a quad. requirements are, 4X4, 2 up for the wife, ab le to support a rockcrawler in competition. Looking at buying a 2007 Can-Am Max 500 XT for $8039 OTD, no tax due to out of state. Local dealer quoted $9600 with tax. I think this is a good deal, any thoughts??

BTW, I didn't want something sporty, I've rode my son's Polaris EX 500, knew it was a matter of time in the seat compared to matter of time in the hospital.

 

Sounds like $8039 is OK, list is $8999. But the new ones are due out soon, so discounts are around. I have seen the 650 at about that price.

I don't know the rules in your state, but Sales Tax for us is a non issue. If you buy out of state, you pay local state taxes when you register the ATV, If you buy locally in WI from a private party, you also pay sales tax when you register the ATV ( double tax, new and used). Use NADA and price search on web to confirm current prices in area. I have bought a couple ATV's well below low on NADA and still in great shape.
