IMHO he will outgrow the 90 quick. if the 185kawi only needs a muffler, at that price it would be a great starter. solid platform, plenty fast, lot's of fun!

 

I know its a old post but at 13 I would not go lower then a 250 atleast. My friends son is 12 and has a 350 Bruin but rides his dads 660 Grizzly most of the time with a problem.
He is tall for a 12year old . He also has a Kawasaki KX80 2stroke that can wipe me around if you let it go.
Its 15 HP @ 11,000 rpm and only weighs 140lbs. Its a blast.

 

I agree with at least a 250. Something like a 250ex would be a great first quad. An adult over 5'7" would feel cramped on it but a 13 year old would love it. When he gets older you can always sell it and probably not lose much when he's ready for something bigger.

 

Hi guys. Im 13, and an experienced trail rider. But my old 125cc quad is way to small for me now. My dad is fine if i get a sport quad but wants it to be 4x4. It will mostly be used just for trail riding and muking around in my backyard, but will sometimes be used to tow stuff. What should i get. And im only allowed $5,500 (Australian).
