Default 2006 Honda 250ex for $2400 Go/No Go?

The gf and I went out with all my cousins over turkey day, we had a blast. We're getting some dirt equipment now. I found a '06, 250ex for $2400, no mods, only ridding by a 12 year old girl.

I want to mess around on it and get her used to the dirt. I figure we'll see it later on and upgrade. We'll be riding on the trails 99% of the time. I don't expect this to be fast or anything like that I just want it to be able to go up some beg. to intermediate trails.

Her= 5'7", 140lbs - 2 days of quad exp, has used a clutch on a street bike only
Me= 6', 205lbs - 10 years of dirtbike and quar exp but haven't done anything in 5 years. no probs with clutching.

BTW We live in CA.

Sounds like a deal. Whats not to like? Its a bulletproof honda, shouldnt need any parts, should run great all day long....and when youre ready to upgrade, there will be people standing in line to offer what you paid.

Just to update we picked up a 400ex for the same price. I got very lucky. The 400ex is a perfect bike I love it. The girl doesn't have any issues rinding it and the she's yet to stall it after 2 days of riding. Very happy with the honda!

The EX's are really good reliable bikes
the 400 was the way to go though
its easy to learn on but the power is there when you ride more aggresively
What year is it a 2000 or a 2001 cuz i got a 2001 for 2700
