Getting ripped By a Dealership
#1
I bought a 03 Bombardier from a dealership in lansing mi. took it riding a couple times the first two weeks. just trail riding nothing hard. i could hear a cluncking noise when i would go down a hill and not be giving it gas. just idle down. well they said they put a new clutch in it but it still does the same thing. i baught a 1 year warrenty with the quad. they have had my machine for 8 months now. said they had to order a book on bombardier and check the lashes. it took this long. i could get one overnight, anyway. im wondering if there is anything i can do legaly to make them take the bike back or give me another warrenty. i believe there trying to eat up the warrenty and dump it back in my lap. i have been paying for a bike that i dont even get to use. Im starting to get a bit pissed off.

I guess it depends upon the fine print on both the warranty and whatever you signed to take possession of the quad. I would have told them to give me my money back after a month, or at the very least that I'll stop making payments until I get it back. If a dealership is telling you that it took 8 months to get a manual, they're definitely blowing smoke up your ***. In 8 months they should have been able to rebuild the machine from top to bottom 5 times! Did you buy the warranty from the dealer or from Bombardier? I would call Bombardier directly and tell them what this dealer is doing, then I would go get your quad and bring it to a different dealer. I would also demand that my warranty be extended by at least 6 months from the time that the bike is back in working condition in your possession. Good luck.

This is america, ......and the rules are, the paying customers come before the warentee work, but 8 months is over the top. They should just come out and tell you, that they are clueless, and stalling.

Most warrantees have a provision to extend the coverage by the same amount of shop-time needed for repairs. Rarely used as most repairs are days, not months. Check your warrantee fine print, if it's there that will at least help a bit. Agree that the dealer is clueless though, time to take it to another dealer.

hey i bought my king last yr and drove it a week till i broke the crankshaft on a log that the factory skids were supposed tp protect. i had to wait till june to use it. i bought it in january last yr. the good thing is. its been trouble free ever since. good machine bad luck. whatever u want to call it. but the dealership didn't want to do it cause it takes so much time taking it apart.

Thanks for the reply. The only reason i did'nt stop making payments is that it would screw up my credit report. and i plan on making them extend the warrenty. I told them them i was buying a new bike this spring and they told me they were going to give me a hell of a good deal on one. So just for the hell of it. i walked across the street from them and baught a new harley from their competition. Thaught i would blow a little smoke up their asses. I would'nt even buy a spark plug from them guys. plus i have told everybody not to buy **** from them. They have lost thousands of dollers. Wonder if my quads fixed yet. GOOD DAY.
