Definatly check out the Polaris X2! This is a great all around atv. The rear has a pick up bed, (can haul stand,blind,feed etc,) that transforms into a seat if your wife ever wants to go along. It is also great to ride alone on. Your a big guy and would appreciate the extra room to stretch out on.
Come in 500-800 but the 500-700 would be in your price range. A leftover 07 800 would be better priced.
With gas over $4/gal now the smaller engines do a lot better on gas. My 500 X2 will run 55mph+ and usually gets over 20mpg easy trail riding.
AC and Can Am also make 2 up atvs but nothing like the X2.

ps: on most state/federal trails it's illegal to ride 2 up on a single atv.
