Buying advice.

Unfortunately, it has been my experience that dealers are unwilling to take more than $200 off the sticker price, especially if it is a hot item. With that in mind, I focus on discounting their parts as I think they have more room to negotiate there since there is usually a higher mark up on them. This works out well for me as I mod everything out.....

i didnt have much luck getting the price down, but mine was special ordered so they knew i wanted it. i would definatly try for a free cover and there is a freight and prep fee thats also negotiable. if you cant get the price down try and get some extras

I have establised myself with a local dealership that I know and respect (bought maybe 20 quads and bikes there, and I bring in my freinds), and they will knock the OTD price down for me as much as they can afford to. My point is, if you are not established as a long time customer with a dealership...how in the world can one expect to have any bargaining leverage? Sure, the economy is a little slow, and sales are probably reflecting that, but that is only going to get you so far.
Around here, everyone charges for setup and shipping, which each will usually get quoted as $300-400. Be careful, because some dealers will quote you a great MSRP, then screw you on the setup and shipping. It's the final OTD price that matters in the end.......

My dealer took $500 off for me just asking what he wanted for it, but I had been a customer for years. They also give a 15% discount on any parts that you purchase for a couple of months after you buy the ATV. Best is that they do not charge any setup fees. Nice group of people to deal with.
Went to the parts department 2 weeks ago to get a new air filter. The parts manager asked me why I was purchasing another when I could just clean the one that was in there and save a few dollars. Most places will just try to sell you anything, but my dealer wanted to make sure that I wasn,t purchasing something that I really did not need. I got the extra air filter because I like to have a clean one on hand and swap out when it gets dirty and clean when I cannot ride.
