Hi
Was looking at the Suzuki LTA 450, it has everything I "think" I need.
Really also like the Honda TRX 420, But it dosn't have independant rear suspension.
But then I started looking at the Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI, which cost less.
But it dosn't have a diff.lock but is that really nessesary with their awd system.
Had an Nissan Patrol once with true 4x4, but it also had diff.lock
Suzuki and Honda have self adjusting diff.lock (brake?).
All have motor brake.
Really wanted the suzuki, but it cost more than the two other, how is the Polaris, is it any substitute for honda/suzuki.
Regards

The Honda does not have any kind of dif lock, it got a limited slip front dif although it is supposed to put power to the wheel with traction. That said, while having a locking dif option can be useful, it's not the be all and end all of 4wd travel. I rode my Eiger for years (no locker) and got stuck no more or no less than other ATV's with lockers that ran on the same trails. Sure, I've gotten stuck but I've also hauled out bikes with lockers that couldn't make it through areas that I rode through fine.
As for what to buy, shop around. These days the major brands are all top quality bikes. Read as many test reports and ocmparisons as you can find, consider your type of riding then see how they feel to you and what kind of deal you can get.
