need help choosing chinese atv
#1
Hello im new to the forum and new to the atv scene, and looking to buy my first atv. I cant afford the name brands and just want something i can mess around with in some trails. I am looking at some 250cc Chinese atv, i did some homework and tried to compare the mic atvs to the yamaha 250 raptor and seen which ones come close to the yamaha specs. I am looking at the KMD-57-250cc atv. I first seen it at mxmotorsports.us but heard very bad things about the company and the customer service so then looked around and seen it at hotscooterdeals.com. Is this a good atv to start out with, it will cost $1649.99? Is KMD a good and reliable MIC brand? And is the website a good reliable website? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. If you read the other threads about Chinese ATVs bursting into flame, or falling apart the day you get it, you might not want one. ANY brand of used ATV is better than a new Chinese one.

Some of the Chinese quads are fine if you can turn a wrench.

A lot of people might say something like, buy from the people who pay us to advertise, if they worked here. The truth is Chinese factories are full of children, slaves, and prisoners. When you buy Chinese, you support the oppressive Communist government. Google "Chinese slaves", "child labor", and "chinese labor law violations" to see for yourself.

If you were buying a smaller sized, say 50-110cc, I'd say the chinese models aren't all as bad as some might think.
But for a full sized model, I would say a used major brand might be a better choice.
But be aware. Just because it has a name on the side, doesn't mean they don't use some of the cheaper parts made in china on them.
If you do go with the chinese brand, I would recommend you find a good dealer. Raceway has a very good history of standing behind the product they sell.
Even better than the major manufacturers.
I have yet to see the CEO of Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Polaris or CanAm post anything on this site but advertisements.
Raceway has made itself very accessible here.
