I just read the other day that the Outlaw 525 is the fastest stock ATV. You don't need any mods to make it perform. The IRS version has 11 inches of ground clearance so it can go where other sport quads with about 4 inches of clearance won't. When the YFZ450 hits bottom the Outlaw has another 6.5 inches of clearance. If you want to go muddin' you need a quad with IRS for ground clearance, not a SRA.

Yeah, and I read a comparison in DirtWheels where the Raptor 600 took 1st, the KTM 525 took 2nd, and the Outlaw 525 took a distant 3rd due to lack of performance, quality, and high weight. I also don't see how the Outlaw 525 could be the fastest since it uses the same KTM motor that is in the KTM 525, only in an inferior chassis that weighs more. I guess it could be geared really high to achieve maximum top-speed, but I think most riders would rather have the torque.

^^^^^^yes. i would stay away from them. the aftermarket suppose will be little to none and parts are going to start to get harder and harder to get because they were made for so few a years.

You can get a YFZ and spray pant it any color you want with plastic paint. If the way it feels and fits you is good, go for it. Having one that just feels right is very important. If it doesn't, you won't want to be on it all day.
