I'd turn and run from the polaris. Nothing can compare to the quality of the Honda and Suzuki. Just go out to some of the other fourms and do a search on there and you"ll see how many problems there having. Do a search on the honda or suzuki and most times it will come up with a problem with the EPS. I got a buddy that's had a Recon for 10 years and it still runs like new and he wheelie's it all the time. He's so impressed with it and it's reliablity that he's buying another one and keeping both. Have fun deciding.

Thanks for the help! I am going to see what they have at the local dealers and decide on one of the two.

Yup, you got it. It's on the left handle bar.

250 class ute, can't go wrong with the Honda or Zuk! I would probably steer clear of the ESP to as long as your kid can shift. Actually, I would probably lean more towards the 250EX/Z250 or even Raptor 250 for a 13 y/o. Will he REALLY need racks?

My Wife has the Recon ES and has no problems with it. It is a little under powered for me, but I'm a big guy anyways. We went with it over a 250 EX for the utility of it so it could be used aroung the property.

Not sure your reasons for looking at a 2wd utility ATV, but if you don't need the utility of it, look at the EXs.

my sons friend has a 2004 trx 250ex. Would a 250 recon be able to keep up?

They have the same engine. the recon just weighs a little more because of the racks.

if i am not using it for utility and the trails i am riding on are mostly dirt with a little bit of light mud which is better, a 250ex or a recon 250

also, are the 250 big bear's or 350 grizzly's any good?
