Default 2000 440 ex vs. 2001 Raptor 660

Looking at buying a 400 ex or raptor. I am a teenager so i am on a limited budget.
I was wondering what would be a better buy, a 2000 400ex with exhaust, rev box and 440 kit or a stock 2001 raptor 660 with low hours. both are $2200.
I am 6'2 175 lbs and will be riding at the dunes %50 of the time.
what are the pros and cons of each bike?
thanks

The 660 is a poor design! It is narrow, the engine is tall, and they put the radiator way up high in the frame, so it is a little on the tippsy side. the 01's had tranny issues, so avoid that one!

Everybody I know with a 440 has had problems with gasgets and the head. I would pass this one up too.

Look, if you have a limited budget, you don't want some turkey that you are going to have to be working on all the time and spending even more money on. Find yourself a stock 400EX or Z400, and it will run forever!
