Default quad for a 11 year old

my youngest brother is 11 and he has ben riding gokarts forever now he wants a quad like his older brothers i already have a warrior and an lt230. the lt230 is a little to big and jumpy for him, my friend used to have a 90ex that my brother loved but he is to tall for it. i was thinking he needs something around a 150cc but i can only find offbrand quads that come in that size and i dont want to have to deal with thoes problems so any suguestions would be loved thanks

The Raptor 250 is perfect for pre and early teens! It is ultralight, and that is a very important safety issue for kids who are still lightweights themselves. And, don't let the "250" thing bother you, because it has a throtle limiter screw that can be used to keep the power down while they are learning....

Some states have stupid laws that limit kids to a 90cc until they're older. Like 12 or 16. If that's not the case in your state, I would say get a 250 and avoid the Chinese stuff.

If you are on a budget, a used Blaster makes a good intermediate quad....just be prepared to possibly do some wrenching....

Avoid the off-brands!

a blaster is the cheapest way to go, but if you can stretch for the raptor 250, it will be a more dependable quad with a governer, opposed to the blaster, a torquey little 2-stroke ripper.

Others that are not so sporty but good learning quads: Honda Recon, Polaris Phoenix 200, Kawasaki Bayou 250, Yamaha Big Bear 250.

the thing is all my friends are 16 and 17 and they still all ride 250s. my mom is very uptight about riding and i dont think i can convince her to let him buy a 250 i dont think he can get any thing over 200cc

+1 on the Phoenix. One of my friends bought one for his daughter who's never ridden a quad before. She's afraid to go too fast, but rides it good after only being on it a few times.
