Just tell us where you live. There are several hundred LTR owners, myself included, who would love to race you.

IMO (who rides modded 660's, 700 and ride a LTR450) I would buy the LTR hands down, all you need with the LTR is the 40 dollar Yoshi Cherry Bomb and your good to go (unless your a mod *****). The 700 has a terrible suspension, the 450 is much better, the 700 is so tippy and rough, its an over rated ATV, They guys who like the 700 are over weight men who want speed out of the box and say its the best , well its not! a 450 motor can't pull there fat *** around! yes it has reverse but if you look at the spec, that 686cc motor is WAY under powered compared to the LTR or even the YFZ cc's to cc's.

Most bang for your buck? get an LTR, you want something with a big motor? 700 then get a new suspension beacuse you will hate your life if you ride anywhere but trails.

The 700 is a good bike, but its more like a staring point,
The LTR is a race ready kinda rig, best way to go for every day riding.

oh an as far as grizzles go? they are slow, my stock 660 could eat your bike for lunch!

wow.. I just read all that and it really is kind of funny to read

its the same info being told in different ways each time fighting over the same thing

the raptor 700 is fast so is the LTR450. in a drag race its up to the rider who wins.. but a lot of people don't buy a LTR to drag race. it was built to ride MX two different riding styles

i read over and over my quad will smoke a LTR450 yes in drag race maybe.. get your fat overweight quad on a MX track and lets see who wins..

the fight with the YZF vs LTR will always go on.

Canadian144 summed it up over and over again.

its like fighting over two complete riding styles.

to the OP> if you are going to do mostly trails keep your Z400 get a big bore kit for it its the cheapest thing to do IMO.. or get a new quad if thats what you want to do. its your money.. I know for a fact the new KTM MX quad is faster than a stock LTR450 and faster thana modded LTR. its a fast as hell quad. there is nothing wrong with the new YZF its just over priced and like said before. it doesn't bring anything new to the table... get a older YZF. i found a few local for 3200 bucks with bunch of stuff done to them already

if you do MX riding i would get a LTR you can get used ones for cheap. and hell i can get a new one 2007 for like 5500 OTD and a Z400 for 4900 OTD.

just my .02

Wow thought I had read everthing. I find it quite funny hoe Suzuki fans are the ones to allways nock the YFZ! Really the new R dosent bring anything new to the table? There is alot more going on on that bike than just what you see or read to yhe naked eye such as overall ballance, riding position, materials used in the bike, better overall EFI system. Guess it always easy to nitpick the #1 bike going no matter what brand you are a fan of! It will be just another bike for the others to chase just as they did with the original! Cant wait for the updated Raptor 700 built on the same chassis!
