the raptor 700 is fast so is the LTR450. in a drag race its up to the rider who wins.. but a lot of people don't buy a LTR to drag race. it was built to ride MX two different riding styles

i read over and over my quad will smoke a LTR450 yes in drag race maybe.. get your fat overweight quad on a MX track and lets see who wins..

to the OP&gt; if you are going to do mostly trails keep your Z400 get a big bore kit for it its the cheapest thing to do IMO.. or get a new quad if thats what you want to do. its your money.. I know for a fact the new KTM MX quad is faster than a stock LTR450 and faster thana modded LTR. its a fast as hell quad. there is nothing wrong with the new YZF its just over priced and like said before. it doesn't bring anything new to the table... get a older YZF. i found a few local for 3200 bucks with bunch of stuff done to them already

if you do MX riding i would get a LTR you can get used ones for cheap. and hell i can get a new one 2007 for like 5500 OTD and a Z400 for 4900 OTD.

It's also funny how all the Yamaha guys think that they are superior to every other make.... As for the R... the LTR450 has amazing balance. Amazingly low center of gravity. Everything is placed with weight distribution in mind. The shock resevoirs are placed towards the center. The pipe is in the center. I could list things like this all day. I haven't rode a YFZ450R or seen it to compare to the LTR, but I can tell you that it does have a low center of gravity. Riding position, again that is up to your preference. I fell 100% comfortable on the LTR. Everything feels... where it should be! It's just ... right! As for the EFI... another thing that everyone rips on the LTR for.... I don't know single person as of yet that has had any trouble with theirs on the LTR. Mine works flawlessly. No error signs. No trouble starting. Works like a charm.

And once again, the no-one is chasing the YFZ R. The KTM and the Can Am are at the top of the 450 class. THE TOP. They are faster, and come with more race-ready parts. The LTR and YFZ R are tied for 3rd.

a stockk 660. cant beat my grizzly.
brother has a raptor 660 with the 686 stroker motor,fmf,throttle body spacer,and a racing cam. its badass.and we are neck n neck till he hits fourth gear then he starts pullin off. but he also has 5,000$ into the motor. it was clocked at 98mph on the gps.
stock raptor 660, dont think u can take me.
