Hi everyone, first post (yay?)

I've never owned an ATV before, never really had the money. I'm 18, 6'2", 160lbs. I've been looking at buying this atv My question is will I be able to have fun on it? (Meaning is it powerful enough to haul me around at a decent speed and hurtle me into the air on some jumps) And is it worth the money?

No way am I going to shell out $3000 on ATV. I simply don't make enough right now.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

When I was 14 (last year), about 6 feet, and around 180lbs I learned to ride on a 90cc ATV. I could get up to about 45 km/h. No way you will be able to take jump on these little things, for sure something will break. It looks like it would be WAY to small for me, and even smaller for you.

I think if you are buying something to learn on.... and will only be using it for about a year then that would be fine. I was tired of my 90cc after a few months... it just was kinda boring.

I think ultimately, a used brand name ATV would be a MUCH better choice. But as you said you have much to spend. If I were you, I would just save for the next year or something, and go out and buy a used 250cc or 300cc brand name quad. It will last much longer, and it will be much more fun and powerful. I'm not sure how much they go for in your area though.

+1, I think you will really be disappointed if you get that machine. It might be fun at first but after a few weeks you will want more. Also with the Chinese models you never know if you are getting quality. I have heard so many horror stories about the off brands.

Have you ever considered financing? Find a nice used 300EX or 400EX for a couple grand at a dealership and finance it for 80 bucks a month.

Ok cool, I'll go check out the local dealerships.

It says that it's a full size but doesnt give dimensions so I dunno. Guess I'll jsut save up and wait.

As for financing, I REALLY don't want to go into any debt. I'd rather save up and wait

Thanks guys

I would highly recommend saving up. The Chinese brands have been known to break immediately. I would hate to see you spend 700 bucks of your hard earned cash to have the machine break in 2 weeks. And I can tell you that no shops will work n them and parts are not available.

On another note, is there any place online I could look for used atvs? Obviously ebay/craigslist, but anything else?

Those are going to be your best bet. Be weary of any deal that seams to good to be true and they ship. I hear to often of people never receiving their ATV.

My friend almost did that with a bike once. It was $2700 for a 2yo GSXR. They said something about "ebay buyer protection program" which is utter crap.

Anyway apparently there is a used atv shop on my way home from work so I'll check that out when I get off.

Thanks again!

yeah i agree with not buying a chinese brand
they are very likely to break and very hard to find parts and not many people will work on them
I bought my used bike very reasonably and it will haul anyone around that has ever wanted to ride it
by the way I have a 2003 Suzuki Ozark....was in decent condition and payed $1200 for mine

So, did you find anything at the used ATV shop?
