Never heard of a starter gear problem. There is a clutch issue with the 01's other than that the 660 is a good machine with allot of hop up potential.

i have an 03 660R bro for about 4 years and i havent had the first problem out of mine other than just doing routine mainteance and a bunch of hop ups. i love it more than any quad ive ever had and wouldnt trade it for nothing man. great machine with tons of power and you will not regret it.

To a average rider no but if you ride hard and heavy yes. with a set of wider a arms fixes any issues that you might have with being tall in the saddle!

I would give it a good test ride! Shift through all the gears, go through the RPM band and such. If you have a dealer close by have them take a look at at it (for minimal fee of course ) Just use common sense when checking it over. Look for new parts/tires that have been installed as its a good indication of how hard its been ridden!
