just keep looking and keep saving. don't throw your money away and end up wishing you hadn't done that. as my dad always says" there's a fool born everyday, just wait long enough and you will find things for cheap b/c the fool needs money". ill be damned if he aint right, lol lots of good deals when i just wait.

what they said.... watch craigslist, atvtraderonline.com and your local paper. There are steals to be had out there for the patient ones.
I cant really bash the chinese quads as I have never owned one, but i cant say ive ever heard any really great reviews of them either.

I have an 2008 Yamaha 700 Grizzly FI EPS from Pengkah Powersports and so far it has been great. I paid 4899 for mine last January and I have seen them a bit cheaper. I also bought a 450 Grizzly at the same time and while it is a nice quad, it lacks a bunch of refinement that the 700 has. The EPS is great, as is the FI. The 700 weighs nearly the same as the 450 and is much larger physically. I had to adjust the brake cables on the 450 and thought I would check the 700 while I was at it and didn't realize that the 700 has no cables. lol It is drive by wire for the throttle and hydraulic all the way for the rakes. A nice feature I think. The fuel injection really makes a huge difference When cold starting. Just turn on the key and wait till the fuel pressure is up and it starts almost instantly, which it did when it was below zero as well. I am impressed so far and would make the same choice today if I were to buy again. I want to add that the reason I chose the Yamaha over the Honda was the transmission. With the Honda you can shift gears with your foot or with a button on the handle bars and I didn't like that. I prefer to have it be totally auto. I am sure that you can't go wrong with either Honda or Yamaha.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

Hey Donslooking, I was like you at one time or another, But to let you know now. I jumped too fast to get a quad. I reached out, and Grabbed a DS650 for $2500, and realized I cold have waited a year or two and got my self a Raptor 700. even though it's pricey, it's fuel injection, less drama. But to make a long story short check Craigslist, and work on getting a 350 Banshee. Make sure it's under "03" so it can still be green sticker, because alot of the chinese bike aren't green, and nor can they get any sticker whats so ever. So when your out with friends riding around you don't want them getting away from you. With a Banshee they don't ride away from you, you ride away from them. Impluse the parts are plentyfull for Yamaha Banshee's. Now for the Chinese Bike's I brought 2 of them last year, and my son, and his Cuzn wore them out. Both bikes are sitting on the side of the house broken down. Also the first week I brought them I had to buy case harden bolts for the swingarm, because the original bolts got broken, also the plastic keep tearing up on it. You can't be too ruff with them, and we are talking about offroading. Unless you can ride on the street only. Basically they are throw aways. Get a Banshee you"ll thank me later In craigslist $1500 up $2500 good luck dude.
Hey look at my bike, It was a 2000 DS650, now upgraded to a 2005 DS 720, and I still cant beat a Yamaha Banshee 350cc, with just pipes, and jetting. Go for more bang for the buck. Good luck!
