Is that the full size Sportsman 400 or the newer Hawkeye styled mid size Sportsman?

Here is a link of the two 400 Sportsmans side by side.

http://www.powersportsnetwork.com/en...e1=5830&go2=Go

If its the newer 400 H.O ,it has no low range but apparently is clutched to compensate for this.

There is a guy on this site that runs one in the west cost mountians with heavy snow tracks and tows sleds out of deep snow with no problems.

It's the one on the left, which I'm told has 2 settings, low and high.

OK, Thats a 04 or 05 right? Not sure if that ATV had the Electronic Control Modules (ECM) but ask a dealer if it does, if so was its recall EMC changed. If it has no ECM peroid than don,t worry about it.

Here is the recall list http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08193.html

That pretty well the same ATV I have, they have a 425cc,455cc and 499cc in them.

There very comfortable on long rough rides and have lots of Ground clearance and are hard to get stuck with its AWD system.

It is about as big as ATVs gets "physically size wise" and heavy but the great suspension hides that feeling very well and it clips though the trail very well.

Thanks a lot again. Just so to see what you guys think about that quad, and to make sure I'm not getting hosed on the price. What would be a fair price?

2004-400
208 hours, 2200 KM
6 months on new tires,
4 foot plow
Back Seat rest.

Were talking Northern Ontario Canadain prices here , I would say $4800 give or take Just for the ATV. 208 hrs in very litttle. I,m not sure what plow and seat add to a used ATV.

I paid back in 05 ,$5700 for a 2001 Sportsman 500 with 100hr on it. Its starting its 4th season and runs great..

I have 220 hrs on it now and would not sell for less than $4500.

Ask him to give you a cheaper PST receipt.

When you say Northern Ontario Prices, are you saying that they cheaper or more expensive up here? I've only been looking around Sudbury and North Bay, but if i can save some money by searching elsewhere, I will.

Better deals in southern Ontario if you look in http://www.trader.ca/default.asp?fsa=Z9Z&ref=autotrader

The ATVs are in better shape since its more of a hassle to ride down there and there are more to chose from. Some guy in Brampton can.t get out every weekend, they are just ride every other weekend riders.

Southern Ont will have 2000 ATVs in better shape and less miles than 2007 ATV up here, heck we use them to go to school, work, and stores LOL

It was just to far for me to travel from Sault Ont to go ATV tire kicking.

Very true. Thanks for all the help again. I'm going to take a look at that Sportsman Tuesday (in Parry Sound) and I will let you know how it goes.

Why you stuck on Polaris???? I have towed to many of them home, to ever trust that brand!!!

If you are stuck on belt drives, then a Yamaha Griz would be a better choice!
