I recently decided to get into ATV's and have gotten

LTZ 400 (mine)
Raptor 80 (sons)
TrailBoss 330 (daughters)

I now am looking for a good 4x4 for the wife. It will also be my backup/alternate to the LTZ 400 if I want to go mudding etc. My buddy who has been helping me has suggested the Polaris Sportsman. Requirements are it has to be 4x4 and has to be automatic. I also have a jetski that weighs maybe 1000 pounds with ski and trailer. I am wondering if there is a quad big enough that I can tow this a down to the lake and pull it up/down the ramp?

 

I'd look into the SP 500 or 500HO. It's a good mid sized quad with enough power to do what you want, but not so much as to intimidate your wife.

 

what is your price range? even a 2wd 250cc 4 wheeler can haul your jet ski, so no worries there. if you can afford it, take a gander at the honda rancher AT. it is a 420cc machine with an all new honda exclusive dual clutch 5 speed automatic. the yamaha grizzly 450 is also highly regarded in reviews. doing a little research on your own, even just perusing the websites of the manufacturers can help you get an idea of what you are looking for, and for what price. if you are looking for used, check out craigslist. good luck with your findings!
