How does a EFI motor warm up oil faster? The EFI 4 stroke sleds I ride with take longer to warm up then my carb 2 stroke sled . It still takes time to warm up all that motor oil EFI or carb.

This is my winter start up routine. Pull choke hit start ATV push back in choke after 10 seconds then go inside and have a coffee until motor oil warms up in engine. Sure a person can just take off and ride but cold jello oil is not good for any motor to run on.

Most folks are to lazy to change oil with the seasons! A 0W30 or 5W30 oil will be up and flowing in the cold way sooner than the 10W40 that the negligent owner left in there from last summer.....

Even 0w oil needs to be warmed up before flying down the trail, especially in below zero winter.

It's amazing TLC that the intent of my message is interpreted different than I intended. I was comparing carb 4 stroke to an EFI 4 stroke. 2nd, when I "just go" is not like a bat out of he**. I am too old for flying around at high speed in very cold weather. I don't like freezing my nose off. Typically, my winter riding is at "2" mph looking for wildlife, etc. not trying to go from here to there at the speed of light. I forget that slow riders like me are in the minority.

"Winter" riding for me in the low desert, is 80 degree weather! On the other hand, I can also head for the mountains and ride in the snow...all on the same day!

Just depends on your perspective.....

Guys/Gals, thanks for the info. I don't have anything against carb motors. For the people who are machanically incline and love the job, more power to you. I don't ride my atv in races or anything. I could care less if it goes 5 miles per hour. Where I hunt, I have to walk at least 5 miles to get away from the crowd and drag a deer back 5 miles if I get any. This year I am hunting an area where ATVs are allowed. A deer and 5 miles per hour on an atv is way better than dragging a deer for 5 miles.

I had a 89 Big Bear for 15 years and a snowmobile with 8000 miles and never looked or fooled with the carb once. just use gas stabilizer during off season storage. The change from carb to EFI does not have that OMG WOW feeling like 2wd to 4wd, streering to power steering, SRA to IRS and drum brakes to disk do when changed over.
