I hope someone can help me. I live in Jersey and just bought a quad from someone that has the title, its titled in PA. I need to know what I have to do to transfer the title in my name. Any help would be great.

 

There will be a place on the title for the former owner to sign transferring it over to you. Then you'll have to go to a NJ motor vehicle office (or wherever NJ titles ATV's). They will have you fill out a NJ title application, you'll pay state taxes on the purchase price of the vehicle plus some other fees. They will take the old title, give yo a temp. title and six weeks or so later you'll get your new title.

As long as the old title is genuine there should not be much of a problem.

 

make sure you get a receipt/bill of sales from the purchase.

 

Having the VIN on the reciept is a good idea too.
