Sporstman if you want a comfortable ride.
Yamaha is a good all around.
Don't know much about AC.

King Quad is usually about the best bang for the buck price-wise.

The Can-Am Outlander 500 is going to out power any of those 550s, as well as offer better power steering, better on and off road characteristics, better ride quality, better mechanical parts (by a long shot over Polaris and AC), and just a better all around ride.

I have personally owned all 3 bikes you mentioned, as well as an Outlander. Outlander takes the cake no question.

I agree with the suzuki comments. I bet you could almost find a suzuki 750 close to the price range of these other three. They are as said a good atv for less. Whats the prices your finding for the 3 your looking at?
Getting a little seat time on each helps alot. As that guy says he like s the outlander the most. I personally have the 500 outlander and an arctic cat 700 ( i know, its 200cc difference),but the 500 will outrun the 700 with out a doubt. Thats about it though,The cat to me is a better all around atv for "MY" needs and riding style. It will haul and pull easier than the outlander. The 500 outlander and my 700 are real close to the same horsepower(outlander,40.4 hp - the cat has 41.4hp)
ive ridden the polaris when a friend rented one in wyoming, its got some speed, beat my 700 by far,but doesnt ride as nice as its big brother,800/850 sportsman. nice machine though.
The grizz 550,i havent ridden, but if its like the 660/700 grizzlies, then you will have no worries as its a pretty solid machine. i think that the grizz would be a really good all around machine. Its a tough choice thats for sure.

The Ca Am 500 does have 40hp but since its a smaller displacement twin it needs high rpm to make it,I will guarantee you it does not have the bottom end ft/LB torque of a 700 single or even the 550s.

Its just like a 1300 Harley makes only 70hp but it does it at just above idle while a 100hp 650 Rice rocket makes it,s power at 8000 rpm. The Harely will take off in third gear from a dead stop by just rolling on the throttle the Rice Rocket would just stall if it tried it.

Exactly. I was going to go into detail but was tired and needed to get off of here. The 500 needs more throttle to pull a hill than the 700 or even my old 500 arctic cat. as you stated,a single just produces bottom end torque and to me, thats what i need and want for my style of riding. You can hear the twin running harder than the single and moving the same speed.
