Default got one in the garage now

Hey guys,
Thanks for the info. I went ahead and picked up the 2003 Honda Rancher 350. $1400.00 No oil leaks. Runs good. No smoke. Front and rear brakes work well. All lights work. Perfect fit at this time. Thanks again.
Another question: I know all too well about many things made in China, but if I wanted to pick something up for my 9 year old (he sat on the ranger and wouldn't get off - almost fell asleep on it) what are the expectations of a new 90 + or - quad. I'd like to get him something new, but not sure of his long term interest. 90 to 125's seem to be in the $500 to $600 range.
Just looking for your thoughts.

Simple advice. Stay away from the Chinese quads.

See if you can find a used Honda or other major maker.

I totally agree honda and yamaha have great lil atvs. There both great companies and the yamaha's i was around as a kid we rode into the ground. There proly all still alive some where i'm sure. Chinese brands suck even kymco in my opinion! Jap is the way to go to me.

this is just what i have seen happen to my friends with the honda ES models...be careful and keep an eye out for it because the electric shifter can go bad and then cause some issues. my friend couldnt get his in nuetral in order to crank it so he had to go pay for someone to see if they could fix it.

Are you serious i've only heard of this never seen it? I figured that they would eventually break down over time, and get water damage, and go to ****.

Older ES models did have some problems. Not everybody, but I've read more than a few problems with the early ES system.

I'm sure with proper preventative maintenance,Or a decent seal on those a lot of those problems can be alleviated. I always looked at water where it's not supposed to be means add more caulk. **** a ziplock bag makes an amazing water guard in some cases.

If they offered a quad with a full locker in the front and a 2-up machine I'd look at Hondas. But, not until they do.
