Howdy...looking to see if y'all think this is a decent deal. I have been researching a good bit on what to check out when buying used but any other advice helps.

I found an 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 recently serviced w/ winch, new SuperSwamper muds, and new battery for $2600...NADA says $2200 for this model. Wanted to know how accurate that is and how much weight you would put on it if you were buying / selling? I'm see it as ammo for wiggle room. The seller is open in texts for any question. Only issue he said is a bad CV joint but he has the replacement but hasn't put it on. Heading to see it after work.

I'm looking for solid 4x4 for farm / utility work, some hunting, and casual riding. No real harsh conditions...live in SC.

I,m from Canada so our prices are are not the same. If he has the CV axle even a dealer would not charge that much. If your doing it yourself there are plenty of vids on how to do it on youtube.

Take a test ride make sure the AWD works, all 3 grears and it has no over heat issue,it impossibile to hide that after even a short ride or even letting it idle. Shake all the wheels and check for exsessive play.

Grab the back axles and make sure there no bad inner or outer CVs, grab the fronts for the outer CV and inner U-joints.

Mine has 3700 miles on it and I have no regrets yet.
