Considering trade in value is $1700,retail $2500 from Kelly Blue Book based on average mileage for that year model, think you've done ok with your $700 investment..

Yep. Can you buy new skirts from polaris because they're faded red that look pink. Also the only things now are I need a new key switch and solenoid I've been starting it with screw drivers.

Solenoid and switch are cheap on ebay.. Around 8 and 9 bucks.http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGNITION-KEY-SWITCH-FITS-POLARIS-SPORTSMAN-500-2000-2001-NEW-/271155144078?hash=item3f221b258e&vxp=mtrStarter Solenoid Relay Polaris Sportsman 500 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 | eBay

Plastic body parts still shows available at Cycle Parts Warehouse. You might check around at different places like Partzilla, etc plus you might want to scout ebay if new prices on plastic scare you off.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

I just looked at a 99 Sportsman 500 last week and the seller wanted $1700 for it, that was his bottom dollar, started at $2000. I passed on it because the 4x4 wouldn't engage and then the next day I found the Grizzly I ended up buying. Not knowing what it would cost to fix the 4x4, I didn't want to risk even $1500 on it. But $700 is a great price for an 01. That's what people are selling older 1990's 250cc 2wd machines for like a Yamaha Timberwolf. Great hearing you got it running and are happy with it.
