AC has a long history of working with Kawasaki, and Suzuki used to own a portion of AC at one point as well. I remember my uncle having a 70s sled with a Kawasaki engine. Suzuki and Kawasaki had an agreement to share different models across multiple vehicle types, including the above mentioned twin peaks.

Typically, if an engine is shared, it will have original manufacturers markings, so a S or K engine would be easy to identify.

So could the 700 engine in the AC TBX be from either AC, Kymco or Suzuki?

How are the Kymco engines?

The h1 engines are cat designed and produced. I am surprised to see the msrp on the 700tbx, a lot of options in that price range.

Do you think it's too high or low?

The local dealer is asking $5k which I think is very reasonable. The bed itself is worth a lot to me.

5k is likely a good deal. The 2016 is selling for over 10k msrp. I only checked the newest models for engine, but they have been using the h1 engines for a few years now. If that unit is in good condition, it may be worthwhile to jump on it, as they are going to be a rarer model.

So this is kinda weird. I checked the listing last week and it said $4999. This week it says $5999. Im wondering if the original price was a mistake. Im sure i could still negotiate down a little so it still may be worth it. They're open a bit later on Thursday so ill probably head down after work.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice I've received here regarding buying an ATV. The Arctic Cat TBX a local dealer had was sold earlier last week, but the next day a 2011 King Quad 500 in Camo showed up on their website. It has 1300 miles, a little more than I'd like, but is in excellent condition and came with a Viper Max winch and 2 up seat. I took a look at it Thursday night, held it with a deposit and made it final Saturday afternoon after a test drive. Paid $5400 which I'm pretty happy with. Thanks again everyone!

I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Some people do that in a year. I would end up hitting trees with that box on it but it looks like it has lots of storage. I remember when 500s were the biggest quads around now people consider them to be "mid-size". They're still my favorite class of ATVs and it looks like you got a good one.
