Default Should i buy, Warrior 350, or Lt250r

So here's a little background, i'm 17 and i'm fairly experienced on atv's and i'm looking for something fast and dependable, i actually learned to ride on a warrior, I'll mainly be riding in the desert some dunes but not often, for awhile at least, and i also plan on doing some jumping, not no 50ft jumps but just some basic maybe 6-7 feet jumps, now i have access to a 1992 lt250r the guy bored it to 310 and he said only things stock are the seat plastics and headlights he claims motor was recently rebuilt, but what scares me is it being bored to 310 might be a ticking time bomb, and ik the lt will likely go 20mph more than the warrior top end, but come in, how often will i be pinned in top gear? Now would i have to do any upgrades to a stock warrior? Also one thing that makes me lean more towards a warrior is parts are much more widely available than the lt, also i have no experience with 2-strokes, i can afford to pick up a warrior now, or wait for my next check in two weeks and pickup the lt for 1300, any opinions is greatly appreciated!

The Warrior could never made to be as fast as the LT250 R....Warriors were generally good machines, and were fast back in the day...1980's/90's. The LT250 is most likely NOT bored to a 310 as people do not understand the CC's gained by boring a cylinder...many think the gain is far more than it actually is. To reach 310 CC's I would think a big bore kit would be required and if he's selling for $1300, I doubt it has a big bore kit installed. I can't really recommend purchasing either ( that's your call ) but, if the LT250R is clean, and in good condition, that ATV would be worth purchasing ( $1300 ) and riding and holding on to. There are not that many of them around...Good luck on whichever you decide to buy....just check them out really really well. The condition of an ATV is everything.

The guy claims to have used it for whiplash racing he claims to have put over 6000$ in upgrades in it, and the engine was rebuilt recently, just doesn't have time for it no more supposedly

They are fairly simple, much simpler than a four stroke. And plenty of help on the forum.

Kk thanks man! Also the guy claims he has done 50-60ft jumps on it witch means probably pretty beat, any tips on how to check and test the suspension to make sure it's still in good condition?

As mentioned 2 strokes are quite simple but do need maintenance often when compared to a 4 stroke. When my sons ran quads, almost every other year was a cylinder refresh, gaskets etc and then mixing the oil at the correct ratio unless you want to trust the injection system.. With my 4 stroke I just gas and go with an oil change once a year. Sounds like the 250 was run hard and played hard, would not be a candidate in my book but then I am considerably older than you and have different ideas on how to spend my money. Warrior is a good bike, lots of parts availiable, good reputation and will probably cost less in the long run if it is in good shape.
Your call, your money....just my two cents that's all..

depends on what shape the 250r is in. you ain`t gonna like jumping at all on a warrior, they are slugs, even tho a good bike for putting around on the trails.

I agree with what you said about maintenance, but i'm looking for something quick that i can jump on and hold a candle to other racers if i try out some races, and yea i agree sounds like it could be pretty beat, but the guy claims the motor was recently rebuilt, and it has been professionally maintenanced he says it's in like new condition with of course could be all talk, I'll be sure to check it out well and beat it pretty good on the test ride, here's a pic of it.
