Default Tao Tao or Polaris Sportsman

New member here. Got some new property to ride around on and I'm looking at getting my son an ATV. He is about to turn 12. I have the option of 2 year old Tao Tao 125cc for $350 (10 minutes from home) or an older Polaris Sportsman 90cc for $600 (3 hours from home)that I'm looking at.

Without any other information, is there one you would prefer over the other? I'm a novice myself so this would be a stepping stone to a better one in a year or 2.

Thanks,
Kevin

Stay away from the Tao Tao at all cost unless you want it broke down all the time. These Chinese machines have always been a problem for there owners. The Chinese section is filled with posts of owners having problems that have no answers.

Definitely go with the Polaris. While the youth sized atv's from Polaris are manufactured over seas, they do have to meet certain standards. The off brand units made in China just have to run when they're built.
