Is the economy taking its toll on ATV prices?

I have been watching ATV prices for 4 months, and I have seen an increase in used ATVs come on market. One ad even stated, "lost job, must sell". Polaris had a $500 rebate on SP500 HO in sept-Oct period, and Arctic Cat wouldn't bring out IRS because they couldn't make money at the Polaris prices. What is the market like in your area? I had pretty much resigned myself to a used one because of budget constraints. If the new ones aren't moving, I'd pay $3-400 extra for new. Is this end of hunting season dump the ATV time? Do you think the new prices will fall, too?

Hi Folks,
I am finding that Nevada prices are much higher (before considering the sales tax hit) than OR or in a few cases N. Cal. I will be, like many I know, going to OR for a new Yamaha or Arctic Cat this weekend. I am a small businessman and would rather deal locally however, at least in the Reno market there are no dealers that do not markup, charge for assembly, paperwork (ATV’s are not registered in NV) etc. I will save at least $1,000 by driving north for a few hours...
I have not found any recent price cuts and a few Yamaha deals have increased prices $50 - $75 in the last week or so.
Good Luck!

Yes, after making a few calls in the Las Vegas area, I gave up on saving $$ by driving from Phoenix to NV to make purchase. What are the out the door prices for arctic cats in OR? I want IRS and caan't afford the Grizzly. Have you considered Utah? I saw some decent prices on a forum board in Aug for Artic cats Arctic cat Alpine Powersports
