Stuck between a few 400 size quads....
#1
Ok, this will be my first quad and I don't wanna screw up on my first buy...
I'm a 180 lb 29 year old looking for a 400 size quad for general use...no hardcore riding..
I've narrowed it down between a..
'03 (haven't seen in person) Suzuki Eiger Manual 4x4. I like the manual option, positive 4wd engagement...little cheaper.
'03 Kawasaki Prarie 360 4x4.. $5199.. I like the rear brake, front diff...no speedo though.
The dealer was trying to get me into a '02 Polaris Sportsman 400 for $5399... but I have heard a lot of flak about the Polaris bikes.. Body looks a little cheap (lotso plastic)...good clearance and true 4wd..
Whadda ya think guys??

hmmmmm.. Interesting..
Never looked at the Arctic Cats... Not a bad looking machine..plus has some pretty good features..
I think I'll try and check one out at the dealer here in town...
Although... I guess its true you can't sling the rear around on a IRS machine huh???

I had that same choice a while back, was leaning towards the P360 for a while but went with the Eiger. No regrets at all.
The AC is a good point, especially now that it uses the Eiger engine. The AC will be a bit heavier overall. If you like breaking the rear end around......go for the Eiger. You can steer that thing without moving the bars at all.

There are a couple of more brands that i personally would look at, but of the two you have narrowed it down to, i would choose the Eiger manual....i prefer a manual bike....and a buddy i ride with frequently bought an Eiger the same time i bought my rancher....his bike performs great and he hasn't had any problems at all.
