I'm looking to buy a new ATV. I'm looking at Magnum 330, and possibly looking at going to Canada to look at the Yamaha Kodiak 400. Any suggestions? I hunt in some pretty hilly areas but not rocky and in snow (deer hunting and recreational use.) I'm looking for a lower end price ($4,000 - $5,000), but only if quality is worth it. I can go a bit higher, if need be. (I'm in WNY)

The Magnum 330 is a solid machine, a little heavier then the others, but for pulling out deer it's great. It's not a speed monster, about 45mph, but the Magnum series has been a solid line for Polaris. It has good tires, true 4x4 and a very comfy ride. The 400 Kodiak is solid too. Lighter and a little more nimble then the 330, but doesn't have true 4x4. If you decide to get a Kodiak, try to find a left over 02 model. The 03 they took out low gear and the rear disk brakes, that's why there cheaper. But for hunting and rec. I would get the 330.

If you have a dealer in the area, check out the Arctic Cat 400 lots of choices in drivetrain and suspension. Should be a good option for your needs. Ride all the choices and make a decision on that and how good the dealer is. Where is 450honda.................Oh now I see him coming

Suave28,

You may want to look at larger models as well since the cost difference is not that big considering other factors like how long do you plan to keep it, how much will you ride, do you plan to upgrade, etc. All of these options are important to consider before puchasing ?? Good luck on your purchase.....

Here I am, exposing the truth. This copied from Robs post in the AC forum. No, he doesn't work for AC and his only interest is in helping you the average forum user. Right.

More of the AC guys need to hang around the "Buying an ATV" forum to keep some folks from making a mistake. Come on guys chime in and tell how great your AC is.

I wish all the idividuals who start these threads could see how you seem to sniff me out 450. It seems quite pathetic. I hate to keep repeating my self, but once again, I do not tell people to buy AC. I only offer it as an option. The brand name does not have the recognition that honda does and for the money, AC is an option that at least should be looked at. I could care less if AC sell A quad, although maybe I could get 450 to write them a letter for me. I would love to get paid to talk about a product that I do like. So what is wrong with that. You come in here and talk about what you like and why you like it. That is all I do. The guys in the AC forum will come here and tell what they think about their ride regardless of whether it is good or bad. You must sign on everyday and search to see if I have any new posts. That makes me feel all squishy inside, that I inpsire you like that. The truth is I OWN an AC 500 and I like it. It is not the best at everything but I like it. I guess you inspired me as well, I think I'll add this to my sig.... I don't work for AC, it works for me. Sorry to digress sauve28, ride all the options you have and choose what YOU like. This is all I ever tell anyone.
