Wow, how the last few years have erupted in the sort and utility market.You might want to get the raptor,but both have there pros ad cons.As you may know the raptor has a tippy feel though im not sure if that matters in the dunes.While the predator has, uh well nothing major wrong with it.

read the march edition of Dirt Wheels and then you decide. All are good machines, Depends on what you really want and how much are you willing to pay. I would go with the 660R , 650 Bomb or Predator if it was me. Z400 just doesn't have enough snot ( no offense)

 

Thanks for all your replys. I am not going to buy until April, but I think my mind is set on a Raptor, it seems to have the most grunt, and an exhaust system and air filter seem to add alot more to the Raptor than a Z-400. Plus I think they are the best looking!

 

Duner i realy think you should wait and test ride a kfx700 I personoly think it looks the best and it will sound the best,and im prety confodent that it will be the fastes. if your going to ride in the sand than an automatic tran would be the way to go. I have beat a raptor on the sand with the my stock p650 4 out of 5 races. know the kfx will have a bigger engine 110 pounds lighter and comes stock aluminum wheels, and I think it comes with itp holshots.

 

Duner.......You did say that you were ONLY riding dunes.If i ONLY rode Dunes id definately own a Banshee.For the aroung $6K you are spending you could buy a tricked out Shee that someone put over $10k into.I have no idea why you would even consider a Z 400 for only riding dunes.You need CRAZY power at the dunes.The BANSHEES own the Dunes (theres always a few exceptions).I like my R because i do a lot of Trail riding in Montana also.Good Luck!!! late,zubbeyboy

 

I would consider the Kaw 700 but I don not want an auto trans, as for the Banshee, I have ridden one alot at the dunes, they are fun, but the suspension is not very good, and also in a couple years my son will be riding a mini, and a Banshee is not very good for putting around with him.

 

I agree with you duner that a manuel is fun however when your on the sand in first gear from a standing start all the bike does is burn out and thats when having an automatic would come in you dont need to take the time to shift you just go. read the revew at atvconnection they say they have never put ther lags around a mora powerfull quad.
