kodiak 400, 450 or king quad
#11
wow guys, I posted this almost a year ago. I did buy the kodiak at the end of febuary, I do love it! I have over 60 hours on it and it has amazed me at what it will go through. The poor thing does look pretty rough already, as all of my riding is in super tight woods were the trails are designed for my dirt bike. We use it to help maintain our 10.5 acres as well, I never knew yard work could be so much fun!
One of my friends came and rode it, he was so impressed that he went and bought his first quad even though he wasn't looking to begin with.

Responses are guaranteed within one year of posting! I hate it when that happens. It always seems like it's the new members that dredge the old post up.
rda- Did you end up getting a 400 or 450 Kodiak?

I got the 450. I bought the yamaha bumper that I believe warn makes, that was a very good addition with all of the trees I ride in. I just installed some aluminum stick stoppers too. I tore an outer cv joint boot, so I hope these guards will help. I noticed after about 30 hours the thing really improved performance wise, it still feels like a dog compared to my ktm 525 dirt bike, but I didn't buy it to race.
My friends 04 has a rev limiter override for the diff lock which would come in handy every once in a while. anyone know if this can be retrofitted very easy?

Good choice buying the 450. I had noticed the override button. It would be a nice feature to add if you don't have one. I don't have a clue how hard it would be to put one on. Maybe someone will jump in with some info. about it.
