Default Warrior vs. 300ex

I used to own a Scrambler 500 but was only using it like 3 - 4 weekends a year. I decided to sell it and bought a Harley. Anyway, I want a quad but do not want to spend a lot for the same reason's I sold the Scrambler. I'm looking to stay around $1,500 or less. I'd like something somewhat sporty but not loud like a 2 stroke. So far is seems to me like the older Warriors and 300ex's are in my price range for a half descent one. My question is what is the best choice? Does the 50cc difference mean a whole lot? I had Banshee for a while and loved the quad for going fast, but it handled horribly. Is the warrior the same way? I know Honda's usually out handle Yamaha's.

I read an earlier post and is seems the Warrior is only a little bit faster. Is this top end or off the line? Are there many simple mods out there for the 300ex? It also seem that the 300ex handles much better.

Are there other choices that I am over looking?

Default Warrior vs. 300ex

The Warrior is faster in the top end and acceleration. The Warrior has more suspension travel than the 300, although the 300ex suspension is said to be "better". The 300 has a very light front end (not good for climbing hills). Warrior has much roomier ergonomics and the same general "cruiser" feel of the Scrambler. The Warrior is better than the 300ex in almost every area. The Warrior has very responsive handling since the engine is positioned slightly forward. If you're used to the Scrambler, the Warrior sounds like it will suit you just fine. I'll let you know how they are when I get mine next week
