DS90 Oil change

DS90 Oil change
I bought a used 2005 Bombardier DS 90 4 Stroke. I am changing the oil. The factory Manuel states the crank case oil capacity of 1 Liter. The old oil showed full on the dip stick before I emptied it. Measuring the used oil, it is less than a half Liter. I put in a full liter of new oil. It is way over the full mark on the dip stick. Should I remove the excess oil and just go with a half liter or leave in the full liter?
