600 miles on 04 Outlander 400 without a single problem. I don't understand why if your idles a little low you don't turn the idle screw to fix it instead of complaining???

I did fix it, which is easy. I just thought it was interesting that the idle speed increased on its own as it broke in.

rs, a new motor would be a little tight, so as it broke in, parts move easier, so a little idle increase would be normal. I don't have any friends with an Outlander, but ran into a couple on the trails last week, talked to the riders, they love the quads, looked them over, seems like a pretty solid, well made ride, almost solid fenders all around the rider, must give great splash protection from the puddles on the trail. The big silencers on them sure keep the noise down, too, would make a great hunting quad.

Guys i have a friend thinking of purchasing an outlander 400 how are they in the mud how does that SST frame work if you get hung on a rut. It looks narrow and we were wondering how it worked for stuff like that.

Crushed a shock rubber.... my own fault. I have been riding the 400's at only the #2 slot on the shocks.. My suggestion is to crank that up. Now I am on the second to the last stiff setting. The riding characteristics of the quad has changed so that it now handles the wooooops much better and has more spring off bumps.... not to mention, it keeps that shock from bottoming out, which as I mentioned can cause a small problem.

Mine went into the shop with a bad crunch in the front end . My dealer replaced the
Visco-lok system in the front end . They said others had come out of the box with
bad fluid levels in the Visco-lok system , one the front wheels wouldn't turn . I pick
my bike up on monday ,less than 10 miles on it , I hope I have no more problems .

To sxr6
Badiuk's in Fort Frances , I am fairly sure it is an 03
because they have no more in stock and say they can't get
them till august or fall . They didn't order any XL's . How
has your Outlander held up ? Did you do a tire change ?
I pick up my ITP 589's and aluminum wheels tomorow ,
I plan on using them in the fall hunting in the clearcuts
and bogs .

Check your ownership outlandish for the year? Ya, sold the tires new & I put on some junkers till fall. I'll probably get some Gators for clearcuts & hunting. No problems yet except for the excessive drivetrain slop.

ITP wheels and ATRs going on my 2 outlanders this week. The readial tires make a big difference in how these handle. Can't wait.

It's the one complaint that I've heard the most of out of owners around these message boards... The stock tires are junk!
