Clutch lever questions
#1
I took a pretty good roll today while climbing a hill. I hit a tree root wrong while climbing a steep hill and it threw me off the trail and abought over backwards down the hill. When I gott it back under control i killed it and could not hold to the side of the hill with the breaks looked up and slid backwards down a long hill hitting the Polaris Sportsman that was lineing up to follow me up. We both did one roll and the Sportsman was fine but I bent my bars real bad and my clutch lever. Last time i did this I had to buy a hole new perch and all just to get the lever. There is no way I am going to pay $54 again for a stinken bent clutch lever. Is there anyone that makes a aftermarket cluch perch that will work on the DS with its safety switch or do I need to just bypass it. Thanks for any info.

I changed to an easy pull(MSR) The switch has a button that is depressed when the clutch is out not letting it crank in gear until you pull it in. If you do not use it the button is not depressed so your bike will crank in gear without the clutch in. I always crank mine in neutral unless I kill it riding and then I pull the clutch in and crank it. It was no big deal for me. The MSR also has different slots to make it easier or harder and a quick adjust star which is nice. NICE LEVER Mine was 35.00 for the perch and lever but you can buy just the lever if you ever break it.
