You dogs are probably fine.
The shift fork is probably bent (99% sure) it could also be the engagement dogs (.99%) or possibly the (can't remember what else I have heard but, may be the shaft??? .01%) In any case, labor is by far your biggest expense.
Another piece of ammo for what Bigger is saying is that Bomb has gone with a new shift fork (harder) because they have recognized this as a problem. Ask you dealer to pull up the part number for a 2001 or 2002 shift fork and it will come up in the computer as a new (updated) part number and the old one isn't available any longer (Hmmm wonder why???)
I don't know if I agree with Bigger's approach but, if the dealer doesn't want to step up to the plate a more strong armed approach may be warranted.

LOL!
Duneme right, My anger Stimmes from many years getting taken advantage by many dealers, and I finally found one that I like in my home town, and then he was killed in a freak MOWING accident!
It is hard to find good dealers, and by all means if you can get this stuff rectified in a decent manner, EXCELLENT! The problem with most Bomb dealers around here is, they are actually Boat shops, that sell sea-doo,and noe sell thier quads, these guy s dont give a crap about quads, unless you can make it FLOAT!! LOL

Also
The dealership that quoted me these prices isnt the one i got the bike from nor bought the warranty from.
It is a local dealership that has better service and seems to be " more honest ". the one i bought the bike from sucks and I would prefer not get work dont there unless i have to.
Give you an example he even suggested I put the stock pipes and hardware back on to give me a better chance with the adjuster but he says it isnt up to him the warranty company ( western services ) sends an ajuster to look at the parts.
I can only assume he is a quilified mechanic himself and he will determine if the problem is there responsability or due to "abuse".

I would guess since you are having trouble you don't have the new style shift fork but, to make a point have him pull up the part for a 2001 shift fork as stated above. If he pulls the 2003 shift fork part number it MAY come up with the new part number.
Please be sure to let us know if it was a new or old style shift fork.

Where did you buy your quad from? I asked the dealer if I had voided the $700 4 year extended warranty I had bought by piping and jetting my quad. He told me that as long as the "defect" was not caused dirrectly to any modifications that I had done. I.E. Hole in piston caused by detonation from the carb being too lean. Then it was covered. The dealer also said that if I wanted to I could prorate what was left of the warranty. I purchased the warranty through Western. I had a warranty with them on my jet ski and they tried to blame a detonated piston on what I had done to the motor. Too bad that it was completely stock. I bought my quad from Chapparal. P.M me if you need more info.

What do you mean the dealer said thats it not cover...B freaking S....Bigger pretty much sumed it up. Screw them. They dont even know what is wrong yet they are quoting you a price. Sounds like they need to have their "punk card" pulled. Dont take this crap. Remember you are the paying customer and you are right..Im sure that they were a hell of alot nicer when you were talking about buying it.

I bought the bike and warranty from Hamn Motorsports In anahiem.
I talked to the dealer at the shop i plan on taking it to and he said that the warranty company will try to get out of it 90% of the time. I also talked to someone from westen services and he said that type of thing should be covered but they will of course have to determine the cause ect... I told the guy at the shop i want to be there when the adjuster comes so if they dont take care if it he can explain to me why not and needless to say I will be canceling my warranty that day!
