I have put a link on my desktop for when I have more time to write it correctly.
He is right about one thing: A small % of American's ride ATV's
Just like a small % of us fly airplanes, waterski, snowski, mt. bike, etc. and YES even HIKE.
What an idiot!
Oh, de-face Indian land - Like Indian Casino's really help the cultural advancement of the race. Gimme a break.
This guy doesn't even live in CA. I thought only CA had the pinky's.

I believe this entire country was built by off-roaders.
I just cant believe some people and their mentalities. I think we should become more proactive and demand more land open for ohv's and camping. We should start lawsuits to remove environmentalists from our land, they are destroying the family, and family values.

I am dropping some t-shirts and fliers off for Jeff tonight for him to bring to the mountain. Got Sand has once again stepped up to help us. They are going to sell FoSM t-shirts and hand out fliers about the proposed closure.
BLM has a flier posted out there about rumor control. They say that Sand Mountain isn't going to be closed. What they fail to mention is they are seriously looking at closing down 25% of Sand Mountain.
They are also the ones that invited Patterson to be on this subgroup. They think the CBD won't sue if he is at the table. Idiots....
If you are going this weekend, please help spread the word about the potential closure, and buy a t-shirt. We are going to need some money in the bank when this thing gets ugly.

If you feel inclined to write a letter to the editor or contact the BLM, here is a page with Contact info for letters to the editor, etc.
More letters to leaders & the media will only help expose what the true agenda is.
Here's a few questions:
Why would the BLM appoint a person who has an obvious agenda of closure to a sub-group that is supposed to evaluate fairly what needs to be done there?
Why doesn't the BLM demand good, peer-reviewed science before making any decisions? None of the species are listed as endangered or threatened. And there has been a pathetic effort to determine whether Sand Mountain is truly the only habitat for the Sand Mountain blue butterfly:
Other potential SMB habitat
Why is the BLM once again using a "management by closure" philosophy? The Sand Mountain blue is not a new issue. Why didn't they start a user education program regarding the need to "Tread Lightly" back in 1995 like they should have. Basically, they ignored the issue until an environmental organization started poking around a few years ago. Typical knee-jerk gov't reaction. Close it because it "feels like we are doing the right thing". Sound like what happened to Glamis? Yep. Some of the same players (CBD and members from the BLM) are involved with this issue. Smells a bit fishy.
Why are environmental extremists and the BLM against learning how to grow some of the plants that are necessary to these species? If we can grow these plants, we can restore habitat and mitigate any loss. Oh, that's right. They don't really care about the butterfly's survival. They just want to close off access to more public land.
Keep the letters coming.
Thanks for your help!

All About Sand will be there with the article on the 25% closure on the back of their flyer.
