other carb options, aside from the norm

who has persued other carb options aside from the common? There's plenty of posts on the TM45, the Lectrons, and dual carbs, but what else has anybody played with? I'm curious, there are lots of carbs out there to choose from and I'm wondering if any have been tweeked to suit the DS that I haven't heard about.
I'm particularly intrigued by the Quicksilver, and although they don't offer a carb for the DS specific, I'm sure one they make for the Harley could be made to work just like the TM45 since it was designed for the Evolution motor. And what about the S&S carbs - I don't know much about them, but they make carbs for the Evolution motor too....

My neighbor with the Harley said he switched to S & S on his Harley, said he liked it much better than the tm45..Last year his harley was down because of a crash, I was going to ask him to borrow it and see what I could do with it, but at the time I had no motor in my DS.

the only time the bog will bother me is when I go to yank a wheelie - other than that, trail riding or dragging either one it never comes into play because I am always over 2500rpm and it will not bog above that no matter how hard you slam the throttle. I'm gonna say screw it and install a twist throttle so i can reactivate the accelerator pump and then it'll be pretty much the best performing carb a stock bored DS on pump gas could have. but I do wish i could hang with the thumb for the very technical riding I do lots of in rutty boulder country. maybe the twist won't be that hard to get used to, we'll see.
S&S carbs - I looked around on the web, all I found was flange mount carbs that bolt to intakes, I couldn't find any that would clamp right up like ATV carbs...
Edelbrock has plenty of carb options - so many that I don't know which one to choose! 40mm, 42mm, flange or spigot mount, pumper and non-pumper, the list is long, don't know where to begin.
Snow mobiles - are any using a crab with a bore over 40mm? if so, I'd like to know the make and model of the carb 'cause that's what we're after. i've not went down that road, if you do and find something out let us know.

I'm thinking of EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) to replace the carb. My thought is an EFI that will monitor Exhaust Fuel Air Ratio and adjust as necessary. I know they make one for the HI-HP V-twins and some of the racing sport bikes. I think I will probably end up with a unit for a V-twin so I will have a left over throttle body that will need the computers and sensors.
I'm still researching, there has to be a way!

Yea actually I'm into snowmobiles myself. The big bore snowmobiles are all over 40mm bore. the newer skidoo MXZ 800 HO's have 2 Mikuni TM-40s with DPM. (2-stroke carbs, dunno if they are any different). But the snowmobiles with the biggest carbs are the Big Triples. The SkiDoo Mach Z (no longer in production, seems like 165 hp is not cool anymore, stupid bombardier) has 3 TM-44s.
